Amy's poems in this book are profound and yet deceivingly simple. In a few lines the poems capture what it means to be human and vulnerable. She gently engages the reader in a more thoughtful, quiet place. The world around me stopped as I read her poems. I recognized myself in almost every page because of the universality of the feelings expressed. The poem "The Office" distilled a lifetime of sentiment for me. I marvel at her ability to get to the heart of the human condition in a few well chosen words. What a talent! Thank you, Amy. Keep those poems coming!
Simple, sweet, and comforting. The way life ought to be:)
Amazon Review by Susan
I received a copy of this book from a friend last week, and I love it!!:D On the way to work yesterday, I opened the book, telling the universe to guide me to what I want to feel, what would be great for me to feel and acknowledge right now. I opened up to the poem The Office. And Dead Indian Road. It was just what I needed to read. I felt better. That is the feeling you feel when you read Amy's poems, humorous laughter, a synchronistic feeling of the universe, and grateful appreciation that they exist. Eating Alone is another favorite of mine. Dear Angels, and My Life especially I love. A lot of wonderful poems (all of them) are untitled. Amy Marschak, the author of this book, is very talented. I love these poems because they are funny:D, intelligent, enlightening, intuitive, simple, and compassionate:) You cannot be disappointed. These poems have helped me believe more in my dreams of writing songs and a book, and has made my energy lighter. This author also has a play she wrote, produced, and stars in, titled "An Angel Cried A Tear Last Night" I have seen a little bit so far, and from what I have seen, I'm pretty sure it is going to be one of my favorite plays I've seen in my life.
Brought a smile to my face!
Amazon Review by Chalky White
Thank you for writing this book of beautiful poetry. I know little about poetry but some of the pieces just brought a smile to my face and got me into my days in an even more positive frame of mind. Amy, it's wonderful that you had the courage and commitment to open up your work to the world. Hopefully, this book is the first of many.
